Actress Geetanjali reminisced about her childhood kite-flying experiences on the special occasion of Makar Sankranti. It is also known as the kite festival and is observed throughout India. This festival symbolizes the onset of spring and is celebrated by flying kites.
Actress Geetanjali Mishra is well-known for portraying many roles in Crime Patrol, Kundali Bhagya, Naagin, Rangrasiya, and many others. Despite television dramas, she also participates in many films and web series. She hails from Uttar Pradesh and flying a kite is not just a seasonal activity to celebrate the bliss of the festival, it’s a year-round passion.
She described her happiness about watching colorful kites in the sky. Geetanjali says the vibrant hue of kites paints the sky throughout the year and as a kid, I dedicated endless hours to this exhilarating pastime on terraces. And the anticipation for playing this game builds up two weeks before the Makar Sankranti. This festival prompts my friends and me to embark on a kite-buying spree.
She further continued, armed with bulk purchases, we would go to our terraces, transforming them into lively arenas for aerial battles. She said the thrill of cutting opponents' kites and engaging in spirited chases from one terrace to others become the essence of the days. Geetanjali even recalled her experiences about how she got injured while playing the joyous game.
Versatile actress Mishra said, one incident remains etched in my memory, during the spirited pursuit of a soaring kite, I took a tumble that resulted in minor injuries. I hid the mishap from my mother, but soon she discovered the truth and the revelation triggered disappointment and concern in my entire family. We understand the risk associated with our beloved pastime. She concluded kites serve as nostalgic artefacts.
