Mumbai, January 2025: In today’s evolving times with increased exposure to the English
language and multiple dialects, mixing languages has become quite common in everyday
conversations. However, television actors are often seen switching to chaste Hindi when
shooting for shows. But if asked to speak only in Hindi for an entire day, would they find it easy to
communicate, or would it require a conscious effort? On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, Sony SAB
artists share their take on this.
Darshan Gurjar playing the role of Chirag in Pushpa Impossible said, "Language bridges
hearts, and Hindi is the soul of our culture. In today’s time, people often mix English into their
Hindi conversations, but speaking pure Hindi for an entire day wouldn’t be a challenge for me.
Growing up in Noida, I understood the importance of Hindi as a language that connects
everyone. It’s always been close to my heart, and I’d embrace the chance to speak it exclusively,
even for a day.”
Krishna Bharadwaj playing the role of Tenali in Tenali Rama said, "In the way conversations
happen now, it’s unlikely that anyone—be it an actor or even people from any other field speak
only in Hindi for an entire day, especially those living in metropolitan cities. While people in
smaller towns like Ranchi where I belong to or Indore still speak fluent Hindi, hence if I have
been given a task to speak in Hindi for an entire day; it won’t actually be a task for me."
Naveen Pandita playing the role of Ashwin Patel in Pushpa Impossible said, "While I’m
comfortable speaking English, there’s a depth and authenticity in expressing emotions through
Hindi. In today’s world, it’s natural to mix a few English words while speaking Hindi, but if I were
to speak purely in Hindi for a day, I’d gladly embrace the challenge—Hindi has a unique charm
that truly resonates with me."
Garima Parihar playing the role of Deepti Patel in Pushpa Impossible said, "These days, people
often blend Hindi and English in their conversations, and that’s become quite common. Speaking
purely in Hindi for an entire day might seem unusual in today’s time, but for me, it wouldn’t be a
challenge at all. Hindi is a language I feel at ease with, and I’d enjoy the opportunity to immerse
myself in its richness."
